I've recently been exploring therapy for my productivity issues - three sessions with two different therapists, and have been disappointed and surprised to find that the sessions are significantly less effective than basic techniques many of my friends use to help each other.

I wonder if this is just your experience or if therapy has failed to develop despite plenty of demand and academic research. If the latter, I wonder why? Perhaps fear of professional liability is a big limiter compared to talking with friends?

Whoever is able to wade into the space of the emotional issue with you, remain temporarily neutral, and allow you to see in your own blind spot is the right person for the job! With the power of your mind, and sexuality, that’s a tough role to fill ongoing, unless deeply rooted.

I'd subscribe to a service where people can be linked up to counsel one another based on interests/experience.
