1 - The idea of a 'universal human nature' (popular in EvPsych) is at best meaningless and at worst incoherent. There is no reason to expect domain-specific behavior to be so universal and static as to be explicable through 'human nature' when everything else has adapted locally.

Intelligence (creativity really) is the only adaptation that is universal. That is because wherever there are resources, intelligence can create new knowledge at a rapid pace and reshape whatever environment it inhabits.
