when you can't decide between 'gender isn't real' and 'women need a safe space':
(there was no men's restroom anywhere)

The solution to the restroom situation is what they have at a Starbucks near here: One room for only women. Another room for men, but which women are allowed to use—if they really need to. I am assuming the men's room takes only one person at a time. The women's room has stalls.

Unfortunately, corporate Starbucks in this country is eliminating separate restrooms (locally called washrooms) for men and women. As for confused people, they should go where they do not cause discomfort (as determined by genitals and dress).

That seems pretty good to me.
Also nobody said gender isn't real, it's real, just socially constructed and sometimes oppressive. This is a good solution for the time being.

I mean tbh this seems like a perfectly liveable solution to me, if this is where we end up I'd be fine with it.

This has approximately the same effect, and likely the same intention, as the attemp at bathroom laws, to push transwomen out of public life.

Not a fan of any of this bullshit but at least this solution provides my daughter with a bathroom she can go into without creepy dudes hanging around

I was thinking more about the situation of trans people, so that's a good point. But, if you're gender neutral, would you feel that much more comfortable on a bathroom that's very predominantly male just because the plaque at the entrance says it's GN? (Honest question)
