I had a consultation for plastic surgery today! I think I carry a lil social shame from 'caring so much about my appearance.' I'm not sure I actually mind my appearance so much as it feels incredibly advantageous to be more attractive, particularly if I'm public-facing.

But I guess if caring about your appearance brings you joy and comes from a place of love and creativity, go for it. It's just hard to grasp as for me and most women I know, caring about appearance (weight, body shape, facial features) is mostly a source of stress and self-hate.

I personally feel really okay with my appearance. Changing it up feels like a mostly logistical move to have the world treat me better. I'm also totally fine with that.
