All of the behaviors you list are borderline pathological, especially in the context of one way communication. If subject to any of them one needs to either break off the communication and exit the interaction or establish meaningful two way exchange.

Your answer made me reflect on my own behaviour when trying to tell my 2 1/2 year old not to hit his 4 months old brother. The challenge is to reprimand him in an understandable manner without becoming tyrannical, it's further complicated by him channeling the trickster...

lol I'm answering from a job I had in my 20s with a boss that was in his 50s. I legitimately thought I was going to have to fight the guy because he became increasingly unhinged and ranty as the scolding went on. And then when it ended he snapped into being cheerful and kind.
