I'd argue that most racists aren't actually racist, they're culture-ist, it's just that race happens to correlate with culture a lot and gets used as a proxy.

what word? culturist? I haven't heard that word used before and am not very familiar with white supremacy arguments. If you're wondering if I'm a white supremacist, the answer is no, absolutely not. I definitely do not think white people are superior to other races

Haha, no, I don’t think you’re a white supremacist. “Race” and the idea that we have different races of people isn’t supported by science and was created by white supremacists. Just by using the word we perpetuate the cycle of thinking there are genetically different people.

Ok now I feel confused. I submitted my DNA to 23andme and they told me about myself (white skin, ancestry in Britain/Ireland/France/Germany). When I think about 'race' I think about that sort of thing, which makes me think maybe you're thinking about something different than me?

Yeah, “race” is a made up term, it literally means nothing. Flip through a biology book and the word isn’t mentioned. It was invented by white supremacists to convince white people that they’re genetically different and better than darker people, which is biologically false.

The 23 and me test tells you what geographic population your closest ancestors are from, because the further back you look, you’ll see we all came from the same place and from the same exact early gene pool in Africa.
