What's a term or word that at first felt very empty to you, but later on gained meaning? One for me is 'holding space.' I used to think people who said that were hippies with some brain mash going on, but now it's a super real and useful term for me.

I tried googling this but I didn't feel like I had any luck understanding it - I get presence, letting go of control of others, but not how "holding space" relates to these. Would you be willing to share your understanding of it?

One example of 'holding space' to me is when a member of a group starts crying while processing something emotional, and everyone sits there in silence, their attention on the person, 'being with' them in their experience.
