Yeah, the US isn't the highest per capita, but it is far from the lowest. And the fact that the US education system has scaled to the size of the population it currently serves is nothing short of amazing.
this isn't really close to my complaint of the educational system. Just churning out large number of people who can appropriately complete testing is not the best measurement.
Absolutely, which is why looking at PHD completion rates are a good signal as it involves a lot more that standardized testing. In countries who do do better than the states also have free college, and yet the US is still world class.
