My parents always told me Santa was fake. "All the other parents lie to their kids", they said. "We'd never lie to you." So whenever I met a kid who believed in Santa, I saw them as victims of deceptive parents, and felt grateful for my parents. Effective technique, mom and dad!

Interesting...my own parents told me the first time I asked if Santa was real, so quite young but not right from the start. I never told anyone. But, boy, the kids that found out at later ages sure ran around telling everyone.
