Got diagnosed with ADHD but getting a script is a nightmare. I've been in and out of clinics so many times. Today a doctor told me I'd have to go to therapy before getting a prescription cause I made the mistake of mentioning an abusive parent. I hate this system

These people keep telling me to make and show up for appointments in order to get help a prescription to fix my inability to do things like make and show up to appointments. Adderall lets me be normal - clean my room, run errands, but I can't fight the behemoth

Idk, the doctor told me all other doctors in the Kaiser system would not give me a script either. Maybe she was lying to keep me from trying others.

I think they love making things difficult.

It does add steps but I'd say it does treat the information comprehensively. ADHD isn't seen as purely chemical anymore, and thankfully so. There might be some things worth exploring even if they seem tangential at the time.

I have a standing diagnosis, last time I tried to get the scrip they told me first I had to quit my grave shift job (which...paid for the health insurance that let me see them...)
