These people keep telling me to make and show up for appointments in order to get help a prescription to fix my inability to do things like make and show up to appointments. Adderall lets me be normal - clean my room, run errands, but I can't fight the behemoth

Ugh, like leading a dog by the nose. For me, getting something for my dysthymia was a matter of talking to a nurse practitioner. They're more straightforward and less gatekeepy than doctors, for some reason. A couple friends of mine swear by them, too. Sorry our system sucks.

I was diagnosed with Aspergers as a child & but for the love/patience of my teachers/family/friends I never wouldve been able to cope. We've come a long way in the UK re mental health, mostly by helping people to accept who they are, warts and all. You be you, that's you can do

Been there.
Find a fresh psychiatrist and start over w/ yr diagnosis ppwk. Only talk about ADHD symptoms, don't veer into anything else MH related until at least a year in. Once they see you as a "model patient" you can go less often & be more real w/ them w/out overreactions. -
Good luck!! <3
