I used to think some people have different tolerances for LSD that come from unknown, unchangeable configurations of their brain. , for example, could take 700ug and function like I do on 100ug. I figured he probably just had a brain that didn't 'feel' LSD as much-

but he ended up having a shift in the way he related to LSD and himself, and now doses affect him at the typical intensities you'd expect. This makes me think people who have lowered response to LSD might actually be able to change that somehow, consciously.

I’ve wondered about this. My experiences at 100-125 have been mind blowing. I can’t fathom 500+. I’d guess it has to do with how efficiently your brain handles the release and uptake of dopamine and serotonin, which can change over time and can be changed by psychedelic use.

When I was eating acid all the time, I was pretty regularly doing ~400ug doses. Nowadays I'm holding on for dear life at 100ug. I was still extremely nonfunctional at 400 though, like just rolling around on the ground crying.

Attitude definitely can limit the effect. For example if you are tripping with someone you feel responsible for, you can resist the effects (to a point). To get the full effect of LSD, you have to _just let go_.

When I first started smoking weed as a teenager it didn’t seem to have any effect on me. One day I smoked some and then stared into a flashing red bike light. 5 minutes later I was so high my friends had to hide me from their parents and after that I’ve had a normal response

I've done laboratory grade 150 ug LSD tabs and because I am such an incredible control freak, I did not loose myself at all. I was trippin' balls no doubt, but I was able to keep myself grounded throughout de 14 hour trip, because I simply wanted to stay grounded no matter what.
