My gut doesn't understand monogamy anymore. In movies, when the character sees their partner flirting with someone else, or even walking in on them cheating (minus the lying part), I'm confused why the character isn't loving and supportive. Getting mad seems so unrealistic.

People who agree to be in exclusive relationships feel betrayed by finding their partner cheating. The relationship is a huge part of someone’s life and it is threatened by a lack of trust. I can understand that not everyone views relationships as important and exclusive, but

Can you imagine this with something other than sex tho? Like, "We agreed in this relationship that neither of us would have other friends - now I find out you were gaming regularly and emotionally confiding in Bob! I am hurt and betrayed that you would violate this agreement"
