Lack of curiosity -> lack of education -> learned helplessness -> lack of curiosity.
It's scary how easy it is for people to fall into positive and negative feedback loops wrt trusting their own ability to learn and figure things out.

Obviously the problem here is seeking out blame instead of solutions or whatever. There's plenty of blame to go around but a lot of it does little more than hold a light up to specific problems which used to be blamelessly sequestered in the shadows, can't blame anyone for that.

In the US it often BEGINS with discrimination, which reinforces poverty, encourages over-policing, etc. Almost all majority African American neighborhoods in US cities are the results of deliberate housing discrimination, redlining that forced people into specific neighborhoods

The feedback loop was evolution/selection for different traits based on environment. Ethnic groups developed different traits from different geographies, food sources, et cetera
We're not all the same.

Link between poverty and crime not so clear at all. Also between mockery and supporting locking up kids I think I know where to place my blame (& Trump supporters have agency).
