How often do parents not know their child is disabled before neither abortion nor adoption/state custody are options? I can't find any "cutoff age" for surrendering one's child.

I know the issue at hand is "ending misery," but I don't know anyone who wants to euthanize a human due to their disability...likely because it would be incredibly taboo to say, but it seems more common to just not want to be a parent (easing one's own suffering vs another's).
