I don't see why it would be an issue. There's no "objective reality" that we're basing this simulation upon, so why does it matter if we change ourselves? personally I want to live in a world where everyone is hot and doesn't have depression

I said no with exceptions. If bob illegally edits my perception of Alice so I (wrongly) think Alice is a child murderer, then I think Alice should be allowed to edit it back. That sort of exception is just about OK.
