You die. They scan and upload your brain to the fancy simulation in the sky. Would your experience be a continual you - as in you die and wake up in a new digital environment - or does your experience end, and the thing in the fancy simulation is a new thing entirely?

I die everytime my train of thghts ends. That's not quite right but there's clealy a passing of mes from experience into memory & its chunked. Continuinity arises from congruence betwn memories & external artifacts. If digital me has no artifacts the old mes will be like a dream.

As is often the case, depends on the question. Depends on whose experience you’re asking about. The simulation would say it’s a continuous experience. If “your experience” specifically refers (by def) to flesh and blood you only, then - well, there’s no one to ask is there?
