Whoa... it took a lot of effort and I had to replace hearing each number in my head with a "boop" sound everytime the number changed

I tried for a few minutes, voted 3 then realised I could do it by changing what I hear. I used a teacher figure saying 'what is this number?' for each number.

I think exposure to programming influences my answer (visualize easily); I’m used to seeing numbers extending in that manner as numbered lines of code, so with a sort of gestalt shift I can imagine it as you describe.

Ha! After watching tons of shows & movies and also played a ton of games there is always now a "corresponding" sound in my head when I have to think of a countdown. But if I focus I can just tell my brain to mute everything and just visualize a silent countdown. It's possible! 😎
