I'm totally down with being worried about climate change, but I notice I haven't actually talked to anybody who disagrees with "climate change is real and/or bad", and I'd like to - if you're a climate change nonbeliever, pls argue for your position in response to this tweet!

It's simple. It's a manufactured crisis that has people believing the world is falling apart and the only way to save it is by changing how we live our day to day to lives. If you can get people to buy into that, you can get them to do just about anything you want them to do.

This argument feels weird to me. Why is this crisis manufactured specifically? To demonstrate power of those in control? If I were in control I would manufacture a crisis to achieve a specific goal, like money.

The Powers That Be, aka the Elite, government, Illuminati, whatever name you'd want to give to them. And their interests are basically getting the masses to bend to their will no matter how insane it may be in reality. How does climate change fit in with that? (cont)
