Muting is preferential to blocking, in my view. To block is almost to validate, almost to encourage.

I used to not as much because I agreed with someone's point that you don't want your feed to be an echo chamber but at the same time, the assholes have got to go.

Right, I think my attempt to avoid echo chambering was something I took really seriously. But I don't think blocking overly aggressive/uncompassionate people makes my feed into an echo chamber. There's plenty of compassionate people who disagree with me already.

Most people who answer this poll (including myself) will have significantly fewer followers than you, so they have less need to block people. This poll isn't representative of your situation.

Refreshing how often whack retweets come up blocked from the jump. Effect compounds overtime to cut that drama focused nonsense

I try not to curate an echoing prison of ideas for myself but there are people who steadfastly "disagree" who seldom add anything meaningful, thought provoking, or factual to the mix and seem to poison every discussion they touch and seem to like it that way; no energy for that.

I don't think the responses to this poll will mean much unfiltered by size of following... I've never blocked anyone but that's mostly because not enough people engage with me to the point that any of them are bothersome

The overt unclever insults and dismissals you receive on twitter must get tiresome- and you are largely measured in your responses, I think. You don't strike me as being in danger of going ban-happy... Maybe allow yourself to trust your gut (case by case)?
