rinsing my hair once every 1-4 weeks, and putting rye flour into the roots every 2-3 weeks. The rye flour soaks up the grease, and gets pulled out when brushing or when rinsing. I didn't use shampoo for over a year at a time, but nowadays use a small amount every ~2 months.

Sulphates irritate the scalp and pull out all the oils, now scalp overproduces oils. Hmm. Solution: More sulphates!!!

I've done the rye flour and loved it. What did/do you use for a rinse/conditioner

I’m intrigued. How does one gradually move toward something like this?

Some conspiratorial mindset or fanaticism

Having short hair, I just don't wash it at all. Rinse in the shower, but that's it. Greasiness just kind of goes away.

how often do you bathe/shower? do you use a more natural body scrub/soap? i use baking soda and acv once a week for hair. however, it does not seem to work as well now that i dont have the long luscious hair and keep it short.

I shower about once every 3-4 weeks. This sounds terrible but I promise I am mostly not stinky, as confirmed by people around me who love telling me when I'm stinky
