I think there's a lot more nuance than these three. I think a lot of drag queens used it historically as a way to be more themselves when being trans was not as understood or accepted. I think currently a lot of people use it in ways that are very misogynistic (ru Paul) 1/?

But a lot of queer and trans people use it to express themselves or be loud about their identity. So there is a lot more nuance than 'is it good or bad'. I'm often uncomfortable with cis gay men in drag because it can feel very mocking of femininity. But it's not Inherently bad.

I think the main harm of minstrel shows was that they shaped popular conceptions of black people in a sinister way. If drag shows had that effect, then this argument would be much stronger.

The caricature aspect is missing to really make it analogous.

I find that arguments based on extrapolation over a sexism-racism analogy fail significantly more often then arguments based on other analogies.

Women weren't allowed on stage is a whole other bag of worms than Drag. If this is "Cultural Appropriation" of Women/Females/Feminine....... what's the damn word?? The vast majority of "She"Face is not a one of thing, but an actual Lifestyle. And all this from me, Rightwing.

I can understand that. Not sure I agree with it but it makes sense. I’d say it’s more offensive because they act in ridiculous female stereotypes.
