I'm definitely not Christian, but I've got little Christian chunks still embedded in my brain. Like, whenever I hear 'Christians' talk about their woman pastor, or being queer, or having premarital sex, those little chunks just don't believe they're actually Christian.
So technically yes, we believed you could be saved even if you were gay, but it was much less likely and gay people were in active rebellion against the gospel.

Someone who hates God is still a believer.

Some might say (I'm not making this argument) that it's more likely such a believer can be saved than an atheist.

Less likely? It’s an on/off switch no? If you confess Jesus as your savior you are automatically redeemed (at least according to Paul). There is no probability involved.

As Calvinists, we believed that salvation is definitely binary, and couldn't be undone once you were saved - but from the outside you can't know for sure if someone's saved. However, we can guess based on the 'fruit' that you bear. If you're saved then you'll 'want' to do good.
