Homeless people make me feel kinda pro-slum. Like, if you've got a bunch of people who can't afford/function in normal housing and are sleeping in tents on the sidewalk, then we shouldn't let normal housing codes stop them from slapping together a shack somewhere.

Probably some things would go wrong, but maybe that would be worth the increase in living standards? I'd rather live in an unregulated slapped-together housing community than have to sleep on the sidewalk, constantly exposed to people walking by.
