This is especially true for people with large follower counts (a lot of noise to sift through, and repetition to endure)... ... and especially counter-intuitive ro people with smaller follower counts (never more than 20 conversations happening at once).

An intellectual failure mode: 1st, talk to many idiots & smart folk who emotionally triggered & not taking your topic seriously. 2nd, spend all your time honing simple & engaging counterargument to critics from 1st stage. Often better to just ignore stupid & thoughtless critics.

Difficult tightrope to walk. ❤️ I’ve swung back and forth on how I feel about it. I think I’m now kinda like “80% for the cutting edge, 20% for the newbies”. The public *is* insufficiently educated on how to be a good public and we do need better public educators
