As your brain unwinds the years will wither in patches, sometimes here sometimes there. It is possible this portion of you will be lost entirely, and you'll find all that remains is a deeply-Christian teenager trading off with a 42 year old post-monastic wanderer you'll soon meet

Is this your favorite stage of life so far? Or were you happier in the past? I'd love to get dementia and revert to when I was in college.

My mother has reverted back to when she was 19-21yo. She does not recognize our father in photos or have any recollection of her marriage but she easily recognizes siblings and her parents from photos from that era 🥺
