Very interesting article. I find the analysis about the impact of assigning responsibility to be really interesting. It also makes me frustrated with how often my fellow Christians twist the Bible to support their cultural values. Love usually gets lost when that happens.

I don't like the phrase 'twist the bible', really. The Bible has a lot of shit in it that holds differing views and time periods - it's not hard for different reasonable people to find verses supporting different interpretations.

I guess I could've used στρεβλοῦσιν, but I can understand your point that it is a bit ridiculous to claim that any one person has authority to declare what the right interpretation is. Centuries of theological debate have proven that. I'll still enter into that debate, though.
