I'm not sure I'll ever understand when people bring gender activism into psychedelics. Isn't the spiritual journey about leaving your labels behind, not dragging them in with you?
I agree -- but I'm curious what an example is of someone bringing gender identity activism into psychedelics. I can't even imagine it. I mean, I'm not asking for a name and a quote, but can you make up an example?
A common one is "divine feminine" concept you see in hippy workshops, and is generally accessed by women. Or people talking about how discussion of psychedelics can be more welcoming to X group.
It's been a while since my psychedelic adventuring, but to me it was such a private/solo, pave-your-own-way (or with the culture of your small group of friends) thing, while simultaneously such a Universal thing -- it's funny for it to be touched by Identify Politics.
Re divine feminine—commonly an archetype, it’s indeed meant as a gender-dissolve. It’s not about a gender but rather inhabiting a cosmic identity. Applying human-centric social agenda is a very contemporary(western) appropriation. Most ppl will see this error after one good trip!
