It’s not ancient but the Peabody in Salem has an antique Chinese mansion with all accoutrements that you can walk through

This seems like a space that VR should be applied. Creating immersive experiences that transport you to worlds from the past

You can almost do that if you visit Pompey... You walk on their streets, you get inside their "fast food shops", you visit their brothels (that still have all the necessary equipment)

I find it curious that Rome hasn't torn down all the new stuff and rebuilt the old stuff. They wouldn't have to ask for any child sacrifices but they could make a *lot* more money from tourists than they currently do.

VR - should be available ultimately. What will be cool is when we can do Westworld like simulations and study ancient civilizations and its computer modeling and AI.

Making that happen is definitely on my "won the lottery" list.
Rome around Caesar's victory.
Japan during Nobunaga.
French revolution.
