I get weird episodes where I go mostly blind from static in my vision, I get dizzy, confused about what's going on, my hearing dulls, and I become unable to follow conversation. It lasts about 20-40 minutes and then I'm totally fine afterwards. Anybody else get this thing?

could it be related to anxiety?

I would be surprised if it were. Most of the times they happen I've been either neutral or happy - meeting up with an old friend, going to get lunch with someone, hanging out on my computer playing video games, etc.

does it happen after a sudden move? Like after switching from lying down to standing on your feet? Otherwise I’m clueless.

Not really? Usually the first symptom is a speck of blindness in the middle of my vision, sorta like after you've been staring at a bright light, but it remains stable and then starts to grow.

Definitely migraine, I'd say. I get them without the headache, and the visual thing you describe is exactly what I've had. Develops/grows over about 25 mins and then goes, leaving me feeling mildly nauseous. But no headache. Still, get it checked!

In your position I would go to a neurologist. It might be nothing or appear to be nothing but it’s good to have these events documented in your medical history.

Migraine without the usual headache. The spot that grows, although impossible to focus on, is fringed with very short, shimmering, lines, yes?

Scintillating scotoma. I seem to get one every other month.
