I have really severe needle phobia - vasovagal response, pass out, avoid doctors, "start crying at the sight of one of those chairs people sit in to receive injections" type severe. Has anybody had this or have any advice for what to do about this?

i just tried reading some articles talking about how to deal with needle phobia and that made me think about needles and now i'm experiencing light panic and crying

I have this as well, and it only got worse as I've got older. The whole process is traumatic: the smell of the rubbing alcohol, the cotton bud used to disinfect the arm, the gourney wrapped tight so that the veins pop out, and the horrible wait until you feel the needle going in

That's kinda funny, but I'm right there with you when it comes to needles. I got the heebie-jeebies just reading your tweets. I HATE HATE HATE (!!!) exam rooms with translucent used needle bins!

I have the same and with dentists. Needles I am not so bad with now after breaking my ankle and needing surgery. This was because of very regular anti coagulent shots that I needed. Now if it's a big job I'll get valium first to help.
