No, instead they withheld time, attention and no doubt "love". Don't remember the first 11 years of my life, but I wasn't hungry that I can recall.

No. Not really. When I was a teenager, if I didn't make it home in time for dinner I was left to fend for myself. Which usually meant a frozen pizza or PBJ. But never had food withheld as punishment.
