When I was poor and going hungry, I was willing to take any job. I applied for everything - including a job that involved putting rubber boots on and standing in sewage all day for minimum wage. I don't really understand the desire to eliminate 'bad jobs'.

In the abstract I imagine would have to be a choice that looks deceptively promising but is likely devestating, eg innocuous sounding loans with predatory interest rates. Maybe a side of heroin with your fries. A loaded gun with your depression meds. Etc

What about a choice that prevent a Schelling point from appearing? If you have one crossroads a city develops, but if you have two it is just a couple of little towns with no synergy. Or that thing where one is paralysed by indecision when confronting too many options?
