No ant makes decisions for the colony. The colony makes its own decisions. The interesting question is whether humans are all that different.

Ants, are too individuals. The idea about ants being mindless entities responding to a higher structure is misguided, humans are prone to show a strictic response to their environment and we consider them able to perfom freewill.
