Sometimes people around me talk about supporting communism. Sometimes other people around me talk about having escaped communism in their home country, like a dystopic nightmare. I'm assuming these groups must mean different things by communism: what is that difference?

Sean is a cool person and my friend, dude. When he talks positively about communism I assume he doesn't mean whatever system has led to mass famine and poverty. I generally think confusions here are in the way people use terms.
