Frequently. I dunno what you mean by "severely" though... I wouldn't say "lightly", but I don't like "severely" either, because that implies real physical harm, and mostly it was just a stinging feeling and my pride that was wounded. :|

The penultimate time I fought back, but ultimately submitted. (I was 10. He was quoting OT verses at me about stoning.)
The last time, I did exactly what I was told, then turned around and quietly said, "Thank you.", then walked out of the room. (I was 13.)

With a belt. Often seemed petty or arbitrary. Mom insisted. Dad implemented. Sex roles. When I was about six it suddenly stopped. Later I learned Dad refused. If she was going to leave him over it, so be it.
