On one hand there's typical mind fallacy (some ppl have no visual imagination! Brains can be SUPER different!). On the other hand, sometimes ppl can convincingly manufacture experiences for themselves cause their culture insists it's a thing, like religious experiences in church.

it depends i think, some time ago homosexuality was considered a disease, but in ancient greek times was a common practice between those ranked as citizens, it depends on the social/politic agenda of health orgs?

I think you're on to something but I'd say, more social/cultural than political. Politicians will follow the votes and agree with science and their constituents once it benefits their career.
