An implicit aspect of it is, I think, conveying its importance, and 'membership of this group where something is wrong.' I think deeply ingrained in discussions around it are expectations around trauma and viewing it negatively and seriously.

Your post reminds me of something about that rape case from last year, the one with the passed out drunk girl and the college swimmer. When she gave her statement in court about her humiliating/traumatic experience, she wasn’t describing the (digital) rape (she was passed out).
