I used to be one of those far-gone, deeply intolerant people (protested abortion clinics! Told gays they were going to hell!). The thing that caused me to change my mind was kindness and compassion from those around me. Now I want to show that same compassion to the intolerant.

I am from the other side of the political spectrum. The paradox is you can't be tolerant of those who are truly intolerant - who want to take away other people's rights and lives. Sadly we are doomed to relearn this now. A tolerant society can't tolerate fascist hate speech.
