The SJW mind virus is really scary because it's spreading - and it's spreading because it's evolved to a point where it's become immune the standard antibiotic arguments. Its success is due to its adaption to pressures - empathy and reason - that killed what preceded it.

I’m glad I’m not the only one seeing the similarities.

I say the number of zealots in a society is a constant, and a large number of zealots have migrated from religion to the SJW world.
-
I'd disagree. Most SJWs abhor religion, except Islam (which they see as some poor minority religion, for some reason), even though the very teachings of Islam go against everything SJWs preach. But, since most Muslims aren't white, they defend it.

The rise of the internet, and especially social media, coupled with college indoctrination into SJW culture, and the general apathy of most normal people until it affects them is the reason it's been able to end itself so deeply over the past few years.
-
While SJWs are, in fact, a super minority among people, the managed to entrench themselves in positions of relative power in certain areas, including social media. And since the MSM generally leans left, and SJWs do, too, MSM helps spread the message.

You aren't the first to notice this. Moldbug's theory is that SJWism and related thought systems are forms of Christianity. But yes, not being bound to logical consistency means you can construct amazingly robust memeplexes.

Clearly, you don't understand the meaning of social justice.

... if you had a handy and helpfully-clarifying simple definition which everyone would benefit from, it would be much appreciated? thx in advance

Since the claim that "this semi-religious ideology is a mind virus" is not a novel observation/hypothesis, it might be helpful to 1) compile a list of the best arguments against this hypothesis, 2) think about ways (if there are any) how religion is different from ideology
-
3) think about predictions that this hypothesis could make and whether they can be empirically tested/verified, 4) try to identify external factors (social or economic conditions) that help the spread of the memeplex.
