A simple question... "if someone takes your freely available game and packages it into a collection, also freely available, is that a time to walk into the spotlight and perform 'HOW DARE THEY: A POEM'"https://twitter.com/RochBalrog/status/1352638452202926095 …

      Jason Scott added,

A simple question ... "Just because I make the games I produce freely available to anybody who wishes to play them why does that mean that any a**ehole can add them to so-called 'collections' or 'compilations' of their own making." - they are MY games ... 😠

Why is their a need for a second 'source' of the game ... the format in question is already freely available from me, I am not denying anybody the playing-rights to it ... 😉

Because people die, John. Because the locations of playing files and the instructions on how to play them and get them working often get lost.

Because you're using Google Drive links to provide your files. The links are obscure, Google keeps changing the services and it's almost guaranteed these links won't work in the future. (Mega, Photobucket, and many more have shifted functionality or cut it off completely.)

Because not everybody is a strong enthusiast who knows how to find lists of games, and then go to each site, and then find in those sites their particular approach to offering what they have, and which version. Your site is a blog-format with google drive links threaded in.

It works for you, great. And in theory, your new "Terms and Conditions" post at the top of your blog makes it clear what the situation is for anyone else assembling a collection. But then it'll scroll when the next post comes from you and it'll be a few dozen down soon.

Because I get the frustration when someone takes your work, and tries to sell it on Steam, and tells you something that isn't true in the process. But then don't make it an open License, John, because an open License implies to people who listen to that License that it's valid.
