There were three puzzles that caused trouble for many people. Two of them (the wiring puzzle and puzzle box) were completely skippable. The third was the city archives about 2/3rds in which was a complex hack involving some math. That one was required and too hard (my fault).

That one was optional! First off, there was an item you could find that made it much easier, but also there was a completely different way to get what you needed.
