It was tough indeed. I loved this whole series. Such nostalgia. I think the prize in offer to the first person that completed it was a VCR. A real signs of the time.
There's something about the first game that just captures the fantasy genre well without trying to be different in any way.

Yep I agree. I loved this series. This particular atmosphere of the time was a real joy to play. True escapism when it was rarer and harder to experience. I got a similar experience with Brian Howarth's 'Mysterious Adventure' range.
