Pool guy still has to come by and maintain pool whether it's used or not so it doesnt turn green and attract mosquitoes.

Depends where you live. Where I am, pools don't open until Memorial Day - so it normally wouldn't be available yet. But if they don't open then, they won't be filled and won't be maintenanced.

I did consider asking about this, but figured if I pressed the issue, they could claim force majeure.

I don't know if force majeure would work for a landlord in that situation. Even under the doctrine, a landlord may be excused from providing the pool, yes, but that doesn't mean you're still obligated to continue to pay for its use, like gym memberships can't keep charging us.

It’s a very interesting proposition. I doubt highly that they will lower the rent, “we didn’t cause the virus did we, it’s not our fault,” they’ll say.
