Has any school actually successfully convinced children/ parents to curb screen time? Knowing what children get up to & for how long makes me despair. I am all too aware of the dangers that excessive screen time and social media use leads to. I would love to make a change.

Matt Walker's book - Why We Sleep @sleepdiplomat is a really convincing read on the damage that lack of sleep can cause - which is often linked to too much screen time / screen time late in the day, which impacts sleep quality.

Here’s an interesting rebuttal against that book. Doesn’t appear as Clare cut as Matt makes out.https://twitter.com/alexeyguzey/status/1195380402078265345 …

For the last two months I've been sleeping for 4 hours a night, thinking about Matthew Walker's "Why We Sleep". 130 hours of writing and research and 6000 words later: https://guzey.com/books/why-we-sleep/ …

Wow. Neil, that blog is fascinating. Haven't read Why We Sleep yet. I guess I'm left thinking, how do we know the blog isn't a pack of lies?

hi Adrian - I'm the author of that blog. You can't, really! ..but you can look at the discussion on twitter where the essay has >100 responses and see if any of them seem like they credibly rebut the points I make or you can check my references. I reference every paper I mention

Thanks Alexey. I did just that and saw some of the comments from other people and feel reassured of the rebuttals you make. Makes me concerned about these popular science books and the claims made in them! Can I send you the bibliography to my book?! 😂😬😮

I hope your bibliography has a lot of references to Benjamin Franklin ;)

My main source of research was this. But I'm told his evidence is robust. Thanks for the reply - I'm following you now 👍🏽pic.twitter.com/Oa7hIVkt8N
