Hi friends, I’m out of jail. They tried to charge me with two misdemeanors and one felony.
I was booked, so many of your messages did not come through until about 11:48pm when I was able to turn my phone back on. It’ll be a while before I get to everything, but know I’m okay.

In this moment the most upsetting thing is that in the video being widely circulated, it clearly shows me doing absolutely nothing wrong. Yet, I was still thrown to the ground, pinned by four men, mistreated, and detained… all to be let go 8 hours later. Free and still harmed.
So the officers knee appears to be on my backpack that is then pressing against my head. Phew.

We're all hands on deck in Texas and I just want to chime in & say: We NEED you to love transgender people. Right now. Loudly.
We NEED you to love transgender youth
We NEED you to have the difficult conversations
The future of transgender people across the country depends on it.
Fuck you, we don't have power and you're busy going after me because I'm trans?

We’ve been warning that the legislative attacks on trans people would lead to violence against trans people. The bills themselves are violent enough but I never thought that I’d be slammed to the ground in my own state’s Capitol. What happened on Tuesday is NOT normal.
Just retweeting so I don’t lose it at this point.
