Yeah, I know that. AMD designed them and outsourced the manufacturing to TSMC. Intel also designed theirs but manufactures them in-house. 😉

For now, Intel's moving to TSMC for a bunch of stuff over the next while. Possibly even CPU cores manufactured there in 2023.

Yeah tbh I'm not sure which tiles will be on TSMC, but Intel did announce that they would start pursuing TSMC for CPU cores at some point or were at least removing the policy to keep them home.

It wasn't a rumour, it was their plan. I talked with Intel engineers working on the project and I was also handed this slide a bit before then. If they are no longer doing TSMC 3nm its a decision made since the video.
After Intel's own debacle with their design + node roadmap misaligning, it's safe to assume future IC teams will factor in that they cannot rely on a particular process, thus being node-flexible would be key.
