And wow shocker after a non-American team managed to do their own DNA analysis, proved that the remains were directly related to those peoples who lived in the area.

after IIRC the Smithsonian team said they did DNA analysis and said that it did not match any contemporary peoples.

Closer to home: I hope that the
@NtlMuseumsScot repatriates the Beothuk remains after the federal gov't finally put in the request. Those belong in Canada under the protection of the Indigenous peoples. They were stolen and need to be returned.Show this thread -
And yeah I'm @'ing them because when heard about their responses from a few years ago to the requests from the First Nations peoples, I was so incredibly disappointed and angry. I hope they send back the grave goods as well, those too were stolen and belong in Canada.
