There is a grey heron and a moorhen that frequent the canal near my home, and while I see the moorhen all the time, the heron rarely makes an appearance. But when he does, it's great. I saw him this morning looking very still in the reeds.
While the moorhen very characteristically swam very hard. I find those birds so weird, they're waterfowl but their feet seem very unsuited for it. Their chicks are hilariously proportioned, with massive feet but fuzzy little bodies.
