I never said they were the only ones saying it. the problem is that they are trying to tell devs to put for example black people in a game that takes place in an age in an area where there were no black people then for example. Also they call racism on historical accuracy.

Okay, as a historian, I can tell you that black people have been around in ancient and medieval europe as evidenced by archaeology and historical sources. So don't come at me with that shit because it's historically INaccurate.

The Witcher 3 is a fantasy video game with magic and shit. It doesn't need historical accuracy. And if it did, I can tell you as a MEDIEVAL historian that it veers way off with many other things other than the demographics.

It is based on Polish mythology. The magic is part of that. Black people aren't.

Why though? Who honestly gives a shit? I mean, so much of the etymology in the game is also based in British an Germanic stuff, that isn't Slavonic either.

Of course they're historically connected, but their mythologies and folklores are different. There is a heavy influence of Welsh, Germanic, Scottish, and Irish in the place names and construction of the diff ppl i.e. Elves and Dwarves.

Black Romans and their descendants have been found in Britain, Arabic and Chinese items have been found in Viking and Irish archaeological sites. People travelled and traded all over. They deserve representation too in our depictions of the past.

We actually don't know what the demographic numbers would have been, but there may very well have been a large number of non-white people living in Poland given its proximity to Central Asia. Also, Jewish and Roma populations were large there.
